Nearby Matulji, also known as the gateway to the Opatija Riviera, is known for its bell ringing tradition, which is on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage. They are also known for their gastronomy and in the local taverns you can taste jarbola, a wine with a specific flavour made from the indigenous grape variety. The nearby Uka Nature Park is an ideal place to relax and unwind. Lovers of active holidays can enjoy the extraordinary nature here, which is adorned with many protected and rare animal and plant species. From the top of Vojak you have a phenomenal panoramic view of the Kvarner islands, Istria and Rijeka. You can enjoy various sporting activities such as hiking, free climbing, mountain biking and free flying.
