Poland villas – Krakow
Our Poland villas are partially located near the city of Krakow. Located near the southern border the Czech Republic, Krakow was the capital of Poland until 1596. Krakow has traditionally been one of the leading centers of Polish artistic, academic, cultural, and economic life, and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.
The first place we recommend visiting is the Old Town’s Main Square, located in the city center. This is the largest market square in Europe, and was originally used as an important trading location. Also located at the main square is St. Mary’s Basilica. Entrance to the cathedral is very cheap, and it definitely worth the money! The insides are decorated with bright blue and gold walls – we also recommend climbing up the Basilica’s 239 steps to the top for amazing views of the city.
An interesting attraction near our Poland villas is the Wieliczka, a 700-year old underground salt mine. The mines are huge, with a size of over 300 kilometers. You can book tours of the mines; they usually last around two hours, where you can explore chapels carved out of the rocks, chambers, and even lakes.
Finally we highly recommend visiting the Jewish Quarter, one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city. You can visit the old synagogue in Krakow and learn about the quarter’s extensive and somber history.
