A five minute walk from the charming medieval village of Maroulas, set above Rethymnon town, Ilios boasts a fabulous panorama of the sea with miles of olive groves, fields and orchards stretching down to Platanes beach. This tall three storey villa has a welcoming ambience with the swimming pool on the lower ground floor surrounded by the pool terrace, with sunloungers and umbrellas perfect for lazing the days away whilst enjoying a dip in the pool every now and then. In this "upside down" house the main front door is on the ground floor opening onto a spacious living and dining open plan spaces, with comfortable modern decor and a smart practical kitchen. There is a double bedroom and a bathroom also on the ground floor with patio doors opening from the living room onto a covered balcony great for al fresco lunches. On the first floor, reached by an interior staircase are a double and a twin bedroom and a bathroom as well as a balcony perfect for an aperitif in the evenings. On the lower ground floor, accessed by an external staircase, is another open plan living, kitchen and dining space, and a double bedroom and a shower room. The villa is ideal for large groups wanting to get together for plenty of fun, but with enough privacy to make it a generous and spacious alternative for two families or couples. The tiny hamlet has two tavernas and a lovely timeless appeal and is within walking distance, whilst Platanes beach is an hour stroll or ten minute drive with plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and bars to choose from and a further 10 minute drive to marvelous Rethymnon, the narrow cobbled streets a delight to explore.
