There is also a remarkable porcelain museum. Fürstenberg is located on the outskirts of the largest and highest altitude forest area Solling, situated in Weser Uplands. This is known for its high concentration of deciduous forest and its abundance of wildlife and is easily explored by the many kilometres of hiking and cycling trails. The house has a storage room which can be locked, for keeping your bikes safely. The former pebble pits which have been converted to modern lakes await you in Wesertal. There is also plenty of culture to discover, such as the World Heritage Site Abbey Corvey, the fairytale road, the road of the Weser Renaissance or the romantic medieval ancient county town, Höxter with its numerous shops.
